Even if you’re not an avid daydreamer, you probably have some concept of the goals you’d like to achieve over your lifetime. And, it doesn’t matter what age you are or what you’re currently experiencing, these dreams are all achievable.

Unfortunately, we often get caught up in how difficult it would be to achieve these goals, frustrated over the hurdles that stand in our way, or distracted by the fears or opinions of those closest to us. Too frequently, we give up on our dreams, believing them to be too far out of reach, unrealistic, or worst of all, that we simply don’t deserve them.

If you can relate to this, then I’d like for you to consider putting together a Growth Mindset Bulletin Board. But what is it, how can you use it, and what can you expect from it? Let’s take a look!

What is a Growth Mindset Bulletin Board?

You can look at a growth mindset bulletin board as a way for you to better visualize, focus on, and work towards your personal goals and dreams.

It’s a place where you can track your progress and reflect on your journey as you work to improve your life. There is no right or wrong way to create this board. It could be physical, something you place within your home, an online space on a website, social media platform, or even in an online document, spreadsheet, or presentation format.

What matters most is that it’s placed in an area that best suits you. You want to love looking at it and working on it, so don’t use a medium that you don’t enjoy. The purpose of this bulletin board is to help you stay motivated and focused on your goals. By seeing your progress over time, you'll be reminded of how far you've come and how much you're capable of achieving.

For those of you who practice manifestation, having a visual board to list your goals and dreams will help you to remember what you’re trying to manifest and encourage you to focus on the end result as opposed to exactly how it comes into being.

Growth Mindset Bulletin Board,
Post it notes are my favorite visual starting point. I map out what I want on my window using post it notes then eventually I move the winners over to my Growth Mindset Bulletin Board.

What to Include on Your Board

You can include anything you want in or on your growth mindset bulletin board. But, focus on things that inspire you to dream, motivate you to take action, and keep you smiling as you explore what this big world has to offer.

Here are a few ideas of items you can include on your board:

  • Images that reflect the goals you want to achieve

  • Quotes that motivate you

  • Colors that soothe you

  • Pictures of individuals who have inspired you throughout the years

  • Textures or patterns that help you bring your vision to life

There is no right or wrong answer here. You get to include whatever it is that inspires you to reach for your dreams, no matter how far away they might seem. But even further, consider including personal roadblocks - thoughts that pop up in your head or ideas that prevent you from dreaming as big as you once did. These are obstacles to overcome as well, and while they may seem like minor or short-term goals, they will go a long way in helping you achieve absolutely anything you want!

How to Use Your Board

As you make progress towards your goals, be sure to update your bulletin board. Add photos or other mementos to remind yourself of your accomplishments. You could even add gold stars or stickers of your preference as you accomplish your goals. You might even consider setting aside rewards for yourself as a celebration for steps or action items that you’ve taken. This will help you remember to celebrate your wins, no matter how small they may seem!

What to Expect from Your Growth Mindset Bulletin

As you progress, you may find that what you want to be included on your board changes over time. That’s okay! You can switch out colors, add new images, or even change direction completely. That’s perfectly normal! You began this bulletin board based on the resources you had at that time. As you move forward, you’ll gain access to new resources, information, and tools that may cause your dreams to evolve or change completely.

You may also be surprised at just how motivated you feel by your board. Goals may be met quicker than you anticipated - especially as you work on manifesting results. So be prepared to see a variety of changes, some small and some big.

Let’s Get Started!

There is no wrong way to get started. If you’re already inspired by this blog and are eager to get started, go for it! Open up that document or presentation software, or pull out that bulletin board, whiteboard, chalkboard, or even poster board.

However, if you’re feeling a little unsure where to start, here are a few ideas or prompts for you.

Start by outlining your goals. Write as many of them as you can think up or dream up. Include simple ones like “Clean out my closet” or “Get my car washed” and more elaborate ones like “Move into my dream house” or “Write a book.” Then break those into short-term goals, long-term goals, and ultimate dreams.

Then begin writing steps that can help you work towards those goals and dreams. For example, if your dream is to move into a beachfront property, does that entail you moving or finding a new job? What financial resources would you need to make that a reality?

If you’re a visual person, consider decorating your board in a way that makes it attractive to you. Include colors, images, etc., that inspire you. The more you focus on this board, the more likely you are to solidify it in your mind and be focused on working towards these goals.

Remember to have fun with it! Make it yours - a true reflection of your inner self. Then remember that there is no right or wrong answer. Dream big and embrace the journey!
